August 28 - September 1

What Is Your Child Learning This Week?
In Math, we will continue learning about Place Value and begin working in our math journals on word problems.  We have finished up Weather in Science, so now we will move into Social Studies and learn about where we live (planet, continent, country, state, county and city).  The students will need to know their address by Friday so please work on this with them.  During Language Arts, we will continue working on our Daily 5 stamina.  We made it to 20 minutes for Read to Self, Read to Someone and Working on Writing, so now we will introduce some of the Word Work activities for the students to complete. We visit the Science Lab on Tuesday, where Mrs. Knobbe will continue with Weather and the children will visit the Light Bulb Lab on Friday.  We will go to the Learning Commons on Monday and return for a lesson on Thursday. Please help your child remember to bring their book back by then so they can check out a new one for the weekend.
